Bringing Hope By Giving Back

August 3, 2011 under Announcements

One of our own, Tim Miller, has been featured in the current issue of Venue Magazine in article entitled “Bringing Hope By Giving Back”.

Here is an excerpt from the article.

“It is important for me to give back to the community.  I’ve been fortunate enough to work with such wonderful people for 28 years and have been blessed in so many ways that I want to share that,” explains Tim.

He has been married to his wife, Vickie, for twenty-four years and is the father of two teenage children, Jeff and Ali.  He is a member of the Father’s  Team, which is a group based from his parish, Immaculate Heart of Mary, located in Anderson Township.  The group meets every Friday morning at 6:03 a.m. from September to May to share and discuss the issues and difficulties of raising children and being better husbands.  Tim’s dedication to all aspects of his life should be greatly admired and respected.

The magazine is available at Joseph Beth Bookstores.

Raising Children in a Digital Age

May 12, 2011 under Announcements

Raising Children in a Digital Age

Be careful this Friday, as Team 1 may try to “Friend” us with this topic:

iPhone, iPod, iPad, …..iParent, in a networked world. It is critical that fathers stay involved in the technology of the day to understand what your child is experiencing in an environment of “uber” communication.

Leadership Discernment

Prayerfully consider being a leader next year on FATHERS Team.  It has a tax-free salary and a great benefits plan.  Discernment begins on May 27.

Habits – Good & Bad

May 5, 2011 under Announcements

Habits – Good & Bad

Team 3 presents a simple topic that hits home for everyone of us:

We all have good and bad habits. Step back and take an objective view of what you do daily, weekly, monthly. If your life was being recorded, what would make the highlight reel and what would you prefer be deleted? How can we focus on improving/adding the good habits and getting rid of the bad ones?

As you can imagine as much help as is available is needed. If you can help, we need about 8-10 people to help hide the eggs and coordinate the hunt. It would be from about Noon to 1:30 on Easter Sunday May 1st.  If you can help out, please contact Kirk Doerger at kdoerger1@gmail.com Thanks for any help you can give the Formation Commission.
  • IHM Batahola Garage Sale:  Looking for volunteers for the weekend before drop off and the garage sale weekend.

How your relationship with your mother affects your relationship with your kids and your wife?

April 7, 2011 under Announcements

How your relationship with your mother affects your relationship with your kids and your wife?

A bunch of momma boys in Team 6 will share how to avoid the Oedipal complex:

Dads, who comes first, your mom or your wife? Your mother may put you on a pedestal, or alternatively, knock you off a pedestal, which may affect your relationship with your wife and kids. Learn how fathers just like you are discovering how to ensure mom’s love is not taken for granted and their wife and children remain the most special people in a man’s life.
